Little Manatees Cove ‘Sick Policy’
Sick Policy for Little Manatee’s Cove
Reasons your child may be sent home:
- Fever of 100.1 or higher
- Excessive green or yellow discharge coming from nose
- 2 episodes of diarrhea
- Vomiting
- Unknown rashes that appear or spread
- Redness or discharge in eyes
***After you have been called to pick-up your child you have 30 minutes to pick them up. Once picked up your child cannot return to the school without a doctor’s note and 24 hours symptom free, this means the earliest they can return would be 24 hours after the close of business the day they were sent home. Failure to do so is grounds for expulsion for not following the policy.
COVID- 19 Extra Measures:

- Children and staff are taught to cough/ sneeze in their wing (arm)
- Children and staff are taught to use social distancing ways of greeting each other such as elbow bumps

- We will keep all parents in the know of any possible outbreaks in the school.
- Visitors have been limited and must follow the same requirements as staff and parents.
- Staff will monitor any symptoms in their class and inform Director of any symptoms.
Parent Commitments:
- Drop-off and pick-up is at the front door and a staff member will pick-up your child in the morning and bring them to you at the end of the day. Group activities where parents are invited are spread out over the course of a week instead of whole school activities on the same day.
- Parents are required to inform us if their child has been out of town and visited a hot spot. If cases flare up and you have visited a hot spot you may be asked to quarantine for 14 days.
- Parents are required to inform us if their child has been exposed or anyone in their home has been exposed to COVID-19. After discussing the time frame of exposure and the circumstances we will use the CDC guidelines to determine the safest course of action.
- Parents must follow the sick policy and the COVID-19 guidelines. Failure to follow these policies will result in expulsion from the school.
